In the Pacific Sprint Division, the feature event started off with newcomer Chris Wilson of Auburn taking the lead from his pole starting position. As Wilson muscled his way to a healthy lead, Sellers started the event from the fourth position and went to battle with Greg DeCaires and Richard Brace Jr. for the next two positions.

As early as the fourth lap, Wilson was approaching lapped traffic, which result in his once distant lead diminishing to a mere car length ahead of Sellers, who had maneuvered past both DeCaires and Brace in the early laps. After playing cat and mouse with Wilson for several laps, Sellers went to the high side of turns three and four and took the lead as entering the front stretch on the 11th circuit…

…With a three lap sprint to the finish after the red flag, Sellers continued to race the higher line on all four corners of the track with DeCaires just inches behind the two time track champion all the way through the final corner of the last lap. At the finished, Sellers picked up the win, followed by DeCaires, Wilson, David Robinson Jr. and Brace.”

In the 25-lap Hoosier Tires Pacific Sprint feature, Sellers started in the second position and followed pole sitter Richard Brace Jr. of Auburn as the green flag waved. Keeping a low line on the recently re-srufaced clay oval, Brace powered his Ron Brooke owned #1B to a lead of two car lengths ahead of sellers, who was busy himself holding of the likes of Marc Mackay from Shingle Springs and Sacramento’s Mike Henry.

On the fifth lap, Sellers began to close in on Brace’s lead, while Henry overtook MacKay for the third position. Lap seven saw Brace accelerate and increase his lead by another car length over Sellers, but three laps later the former dirt modified racer fell out of the lead when his right rear wheel caught a rut in turns three and four causing a slight hesitation, which allowed Sellers to dive low and steal the lead and Henry followed suit for second spot….At the checkered flag, it was Sellers with his third season win followed by Robinson. Richard Brace Jr. impressed with a four-lap trophy dash win.

The battle between Adam McCarthy and Lindt for the lead continued on the restart, and while Silveria held third, the battle between Arriage, DeMartini and Richard Brace Jr.for fourth was a good one. Working lap 16, DeMartini made an inside front stretch pass on Brace for fifth, but his inside move on Arriaga in turn one for fourth resulted in contact with both driving up in turn two. Brace was now fourth and Arriaga coasted to a stop out of turn four for a yeloow after 16 laps. The race was ended at that point due to time with Adam McCarthy the happy winner ahead of Lindt, Silveira, Brace and Brent Dothage.

…With the waving of the final green flag, Magaruh adjusted his high line driving style to the low groove to protect his position from DeCaires who was charging hard down low. Meanwhile, Robinson was chasing DeCaires for second place, while Richard Brace Jr. of Auburn was having a stellar run behind the top three.

As they approached the checkered flag, Magaruh managed to lengthen his lead to nearly a car length while Robinson overtook DeCaires at the line to finish second. DeCaires maintained their place while Brace posted a fourth and Chuck Gurney Jr. of Livermore rounded out the top five.
